A note about our research:
Our team runs on a different model than most academic research groups. As a full-time practicing clinician, I've built a lean research program centered on trainee mentorship and cross-disciplinary collaborations with engineers, ethicists, and many others. Our projects range from practical investigations to conceptual work that shapes the direction of our field. The program is sustained by the generosity of donors and patients, and led by talented students and clinical trainees from across Harvard Medical School and our teaching hospitals. What we lack in size and infrastructure, we make up for in proximity to the clinical questions that matter and the freedom to pursue them honestly.
